More about Olivia

This is my baby. :-) She’ll be 15 soon. Where does the time go???? :-(

When I found out I was pregnant with Olivia, I didn’t tell anyone. It was very early and with my history, I didn’t want to get the kids excited and then have to tell them otherwise later. One day when I was about three months along, Caleb came in the bathroom right after I had gotten out of the tub. I was wrapped in a towel. He looked at me for a second then said, “You’re gonna have a baby aren’t you?” I told him he was right, I was, but we needed to keep it quiet for a while longer. The next thing he said was. “If it’s another girl I’m moving out.” Mind you, he was all of 10. ;-)

With all the complications I had with Calli, this pregnancy was considered very high risk. I was put on meds to hold off labor at six months. Had a planned c-section as soon as amnio showed her lungs were developed. Everything went fine. PTL!

The kids came to the hospital to meet their new sister. I let Caleb be the first to hold her. As soon as he had her in his arms I told him, “You know, there are four baby boys in the nursery, you could go see if you could trade her for one of them.” He looked up at me and said, “Are you crazy? This one’s cute!!” I never heard about wanting her to be a boy again. lol

Olivia is my quiet one. She doesn’t chat for the sake of chatting. She’s teaching herself to play the guitar and quite good at it. She’s also been learning way more than she’d care to about tending to babies. ;-) She’s learned more about hard things in life this past couple of years than a teen should ever have to and she’s done so with grace. I’m very proud of Olivia; she’s a very mature and compassionate girl/woman.

She also cleaned the kitchen for my last night while I slept. What a blessing to wake up to a CLEAN kitchen! With all the running back and forth to the hospital, and having ALL the kids here, the kitchen was a disaster. LOL Yup, she’s a pretty sweet daughter. :-)
